Scuba Diving - How to Disassemble Scuba Equipment • Scuba Diving Tips
I did fine for this skill, but I think it had to do with a lifetime of doing summersaults under the water without a mask, haha
Thank you
bro full mask remove was my #1 opp during my skill dives
Could anyone tell me how often one should practice scuba diving after open water diving course?
Maybe a good idea to upload the full screen instead. You can hardly read the text-through-text combined with subscribe button.
Removing the mask to clear it of if it falls of is the easy part i forget that my nose is exposed to water so i some times breath in from my nose. If you do this hold the mask with 1 hand and then hold your nose with the other hand and calm down and then try again
This was very easy exercise for me since the first day, I was always having little bit water touching my nose the first day and I didn’t react at all on that because it wasn’t on my eyes. When I needed to take it off and put it back I didn’t have any problem also when you have very good instructor and you feel safe with him since the day 1 there will be no problems at all. The only hard thing for me was controlled emergency swimming 9m horizontal but the vertical was very easy. It was hard for me to swim 9m horizontal with one breath. Can’t wait for more dives and get more certificates so finally I can become instructor ☺️
its hard for me because i keep almost breathing through my nose
That is a very basic and needed skill.
You must be a PADI instructor. This doesn’t even address the part that people struggle with. Everyone knows how to remove and put a mask back on. Actually teach people how to overcome the sensation that comes from your nose taking on water when mask is flooded/removed.
Ahhh memorys, did it like a year or two ago...dived a total of 3 times
I just had to do it for my OW. No big deal for me but some people had issues. Of coarse we were doing it in cold water with 7mm hood and gloves, so that didn't make it any easier
This video was the best thing about studying scuba!
I just imagine the minty fresh would burn your eyes haha
boy, i believed this and the only thing the glasses were doing was singing "here comes the sun"
Yeah, that's nice, now take the regulator out of your mouth.
must say these videos really help me study great tips and information thanks alot much love keep doing what your doing
Hardest part of my OW training was removing my BCD and having to wear it again. It kept floating away from me and wasn't easy to put back on.
Easiest skill*
Thank you, this I’d very well done! Perfect for me. 👍
Sorry but i still need to pinch my nose.
Once you're able to doff all gear, surface, tread x10 min, decent, and don all gear demonstrates good confidence. But its definitely not the hardest skill. Try dialing in your BCD so you can hover on bottom controling buoyancy with your breathing.
Literally a basic skill
I did that today with relative...I spiced it up a bit by dropping the mask just out of my visibility range under water then retrieved it and put it back on and cleared...it was my 3rd dive
so to clear your mask of water you breathe in water (while your underwater you cant breathe in air) then breathe out through your nose... your tip is not clear enough details wise. that water that comes in through my mouth as i breathe in i will be able to blow that through my nose? Aren't you breathing air through your snorkel during this process?........ oh i see later in your dialog you finally mentioned that of course your breathing in through your regulator. Why didn't you say this in the first place? Less confusion will result.
What is 200?
Wow!! 1M views 🎉🎉
Do NOT do this to the ScubaPro D Mask (looks like that’s the one he is holding in this video). ScubaPro has stated that it will ruin the coating and they themselves will not honor the warranty if you did so.
Thanks for your time i cant also find the link for the dive watch computer?
For me making a sound while exhaling helped alot
Should be able to assemble it, test it, throw it in the pool, and dive down to it and don it. In order: Weight belt, regulator, mask, bcd then fins.
That is one way of putting it on. I think they teach this in the army
Now imagine a 240 pound instructor fighting with you over the mask, jerking your reg out of your mouth, turning your air off, punching you in the stomach…….the list is long…….Welcome to Spec Ops dive training…..
Had my first Try Dive today and managed this first time. Really enjoyed it. Breathing without the mask in though sends sent air up nose and felt odd.
Yes it is a strange feeling the first time :)
I haven't begun my certification yet, but DEFLATING your BCD when ascending seems counter intuitive
Yes it does, but that prevents air from expending in your BCD which can lead to a rapid ascent. It is best to swim up :)
@@ScubaDivingTips Now that I've completed basic Open Water coursework I understand. As pressure lessens, the air in your BCD expands, displacing MORE water and making you MORE buoyant!
Love your work Marcel, practising this in the IDC at Blue Corner Dive tomorrow.
Thank you so much! More to come soon :)
Great video... Just like when I took the course. Great refresher! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Im thirteen and when i first did this on a lake i nearly had an panic attack because water ran up my nose ( we were 5 meters under the water ) and obviously i couldnt see. I managed to calm myself down and do it right and i passed! It was my third worst experience because i stopped breathing because of the water traveled trough my nose to my mouth and i needed to cough it out. It was fricking scary because, once again i couldnt see. 😬
Yes it can be intimidating practicing it. But you managed to stay calm, very good! Keep doing it more and it will become much easier :)
@@ScubaDivingTips thanks😉
is there an age limit to start scuba. and how old are you.
That depends on your health. Please check with a dive physician before you start. My age is a secret haha
I agree with other posters. The single hardest skill is trusting your training. Breathe, everything else is secondary. Saved my @ every time. If you can't do this skill in open water, you need to spend more time with a better instructor.
Time and Instructor makes a lot of difference
Hardest part amd skill on diving is to not dive above your training and limits and if you do dive deep with single bottle open curcuit and get narcosis you become calm and feel like nothing is wrong and more delusional depends on how narc you are and then thats how you die
When I learned back in the sixties, my instructor had us throw our masks into the pool, then dive down to it and hover over it inverted (to ensure our snoots were full of water), then don and clear our masks. Of course we blew snot into our masks, so then we'd have to doff, rinse and don and clear it again, all in one breath. No tanks, just fins.
Training standards have changed a lot since then
Youre bad ass man!!!
Thanks!! 😎
I remember doing this for an intro training course in the pool! It made sense to me right away but my mom was having some trouble 😂 great skill to learn though, because when we got out in the real ocean and were 30 feet deep, I could easily clear any water from my mask.
Yes, it is a very important skill to master :)
Capp, the hardest skill in scuba diving is learning how to constantly get neutrally buoyant
Hmmm. Having the instructor, at 90’, turn off the right post while simulating an air leak in the manifold. Then having my buddy turn off the left post to stop the “leak”. 😂. Tech 1 with AG and Joe T in San Diego. Best class ever.
What stresses us when we take off the mask during diving is that we think that the water will disturb our eyes. You can overcome this situation by trying a few times...
Don’t do it to a plastic mask ……..
Great explanation. Keep it up! Hope your channel grows
Thank you for the knowledge! I really like how you teach =)
Thank you so much! your video is amazing, you are very clear and fun to watch and I have learned so much in this video. I wanted to know if you think there is available a pdf of the manual to read it before my quiz?I would appreciated it a lot! I will watch all your videos for sure, but also would like to have that book for support. I assume this is complementary to the manual. Thank you very much!
Great tip!
